Ribbon Cutting at 11:30 a.m.

Bellevue Food Bank (year round) This community-based ministry is housed in our facility but is supported by many churches and businesses within the Bellevue area. Each Tuesday, (6-7:30 p.m.) persons needing food come to the food bank to receive bags of groceries. The food bank provides support to over 400 persons on a monthly basis. The food bank serves recipients in the following zip codes: 37205, 37209, 37221, 37062,and 37143. If you need further information or would like to donate to the Bellevue Community Food Bank, call the church office at 646-4146 or (615) 212-9199. Food Bank Donations are accepted Monday – Thursday, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.  Appointments are preferred for large donation deliveries so we can have help and carts ready to go.

Some tips:

  • Please check all donations for expiration dates prior to your donation – an expiration date approximately one year ahead is preferred. Think about a family of 4 – what kinds of food would the children enjoy eating? What kind of food does a Senior Citizen living alone or a couple need that is shelf stable
  • Plan ahead! Watch for “buy one get one free” sales at your grocery for basic foods and use coupons to get more for your donation dollars.
  • The largest size may not be the best – think about what your family typically buys. What do you consider necessities for your pantry?
  • Please don’t empty out your own pantry and donate those items that YOU won’t eat unless the items are on the basic list of donations.

Here’s a basic list of suggested donations: Cereal, Peanut butter (and jelly) but not combined in one jar, Macaroni and cheese, Canned meats (chicken, Spam, Vienna sausages, tuna), Canned Beef Stew, Chicken and Dumplings, etc., Canned pasta and sauce/meat, Pasta sauces and dried pasta, Canned Soups, Canned beans (pinto, great northern, black-eyed peas, black beans, baked beans, etc), Dried beans (1 pound bags), Canned vegetables (sweet potatoes, pumpkin, greens, green beans, carrot, beets, potatoes, corn, mushrooms, etc.), Potato “flakes” (instant mashed potatoes), rice, and “Stove Top” stuffing, pasta/noodle based side dishes, Baking products (mixes for rolls, instant breads that need minimal extra ingredients to cook, cornbread mixes, pancake mixes, etc), Sugar, Cooking oil, Evaporated milk, Pancake Syrup, Jello gelatin and puddings (snack cups), Crackers, Select beverages: Juice, Koolaid, Tea, coffee, juice boxes (for school lunches)
